어원으로 분리해보면 Ana는 apart로 분리하다 tomy는 cut으로 자르다라는 의미입니다. 해부학에 대하여 각자 주장하는 정의가 약간씩 다르지만 해부학이란 정상적인 신체의 형태나 구조를 연구하는 학문이며 병리학은 질병의 발생과정이나 비 정상적인 형태를 연구하는 학문입니다.
저자는 인체에 대한 해부학 용어와 해부학의 난해한 그림들을 쉽고 간결하게 표현하여 학습방법을 개선함으로써 해부학을 공부하는데 보다 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 하였습니다.
이 책의 핵심은 인체를 계통별로 나누고 저자만의 쉬운 그림과 해설로 가장 기초적인 지식을 습득하도록 하는 것입니다.
