이 책은 황성환 병원장이 30년간 환자들을 진료하고 치료하며 쌓아온 경험들을 토대로 변실금의 병태 생리와 치료에 대해 일목요연하게 정리하였습니다.

우리나라에서는 유독 항문과 관련된 질병을 드러내기 꺼려하는 분위기가 짙게 깔려있고, 연령대가 높아질수록 질병을 더더욱 드러내기를 망설이는 분들이 많습니다. 그래서인지 요실금에 대해서는 비교적 많은 사람들이 인식하고 있지만, 변실금에 대해서는 잘 알지 못하고 적절한 치료법 또한 없었습니다.
