This book is based primarily on the author’s clinical experience and therefore has its limitations. The author does not claim that his methods are the best, but hopes that the shortcomings of this work may be complemented through the insights and feedback of others.

Rather than providing a comprehensive overview of all eyelid surgical techniques, this book focuses on points from the author’s experience that have not been sufficiently addressed elsewhere, areas of differing opinion, aspects requiring special emphasis, and issues prone to complications. Techniques with which the author has limited experience, even if considered effective, have been omitted. Some explanations are repeated intentionally, as the concepts and mechanisms of eyelid surgery recur throughout multiple stages of the procedure.

저자: In-Chang Cho

In-Chang Cho is a distinguished plastic surgeon and adjunct professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Yonsei University College of Medicine. He completed his medical education at Yonsei University, trained in plastic surgery at Severance Hospital, and pursued further fellowship training in Japan and the United States. Over several decades, he has led major aesthetic plastic surgery societies in Korea and directed prominent private clinics. He is also the author of numerous influential publications and book chapters, particularly in the field of eyelid and oculoplastic surgery.

『The Art of Blepharoplasty 2nd edition』 aims to supplement the insufficient explanations of the previous edition and to provide further clarification on challenging issues. Chapter 1 covers the principles of double eyelid formation, skin suturing techniques, the non-incisional method authored by Dr. Tae-Ju Ahn, as well as the lateral canthoplasty technique authored by Dr. Yong-Ho Shin. Subsequent chapters address a wide range of eyelid procedures, including senile upper blepharoplasty, the causes and corrective management of complications in upper eyelid surgery, medial epicanthoplasty, and ptosis surgery. Efforts have been made to explain surgical techniques more intuitively and in greater detail through the use of actual operative photographs and various illustrations.
